Miami-Dade Contractors
Continuing Education Requirements:
By state law, County Registered Contractor Licensees are required to take 14 credit hours of Continuing Education every 2 year renewal cycle in keeping with the CE requirement for State Certified Contractors. The renewal cycle for Miami- Dade Registered Contractors ends on August 31 of ODD numbered years. Registered Licensees who hold a Miami-Dade Certificate of Competency in one of the construction trades must complete an additional 2 hours of CE for a total of 16 hours of continuing education every 2 year renewal cycle.
IMPORTANT: Miami-Dade Certificate of Competency holders cannot take all 16 hours of CE online! Miami-Dade Construction Rules Ordinances state that only 25% of your CE can be taken online. This means only 4 CE hours can be taken online. The remaining hours must be taken in the classroom format.
The 2 hour CE course titled “Contacting in Miami-Dade County” has been approved by the Miami-Dade CTQB and will meet your specific Miami-Dade County 2 hour CE requirement. This course is designed to compliment a live classroom based 14 hour CE package. These live classroom based 14 hour CE packages are offered by Gold Coast School at many times and locations throughout Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. Please contact one of our Career Counselors to register for one of these 14 hour classroom CE packages. 1-800-732-9140.
Finally, please note that the 2 hour online CE course “Contracting in Miami-Dade County” is NOT a requirement of the DBPR and is unique to Miami-Dade County. Therefore, the completed CE hours will NOT be electronically reported to the DBPR or Miami-Dade County. You must send a photo copy of your completion certificate along with your renewal fees to the Miami-Dade Construction Trades Qualifying Board (CTQB).
You can print your own completion certificate from this online learning program after you successfully complete the course.
